Tijuana Prepares Digital Emergency Map For El Niño

TIJUANA.- In response to the rain forecast expected for upcoming weeks, the City of Tijuana has maintain their prevention job in collaboration with different dependencies, which is why the Catastrophe Direction started to operate the City's Platform for Disaster Management.

This control system can be consulted at catastro.tijuana.gob.mx, it's available to address reports caused by precipitations on behalf of El Niño, giving information on where to find shelters, hospitals, risk zones, accident and rescue corps, all through a geolocator.

City's Director of Catastrophe's, Cesar Antonio Arce Moreno, mentioned that one of the orders instructed by Mayor Jorge Astiazaran Orci, is to reinforce actions to reduce climate affectations in coordination with Civil Protection, the Fire Department, Public Works, Tijuana's DIF, Red Cross and the Secretary of Public Security.

"Aside from our preventive work, our dependency continues with the Catastrophic Modernization Project (Proyecto de Modernizacion Catastral), which includes optimizing this type of process in every area. Among the most noted progresses we've had there is the update of our data base with 587,821 accounts in services; up until now this task represents 92% of our progress."

Lastly, the Department of Real Estate has digitalized 99% of the files created by real estate owners throughout the city. These activities help collect property taxation in a more efficient manner, having as purpose to offer better public services that are worthy of Tijuana.
