At Least 5 Dead After Avalanche In The Alps

Two people are missing

FRANCE.- An avalanche that shook the French part of The Alps took at least 5 lives today at Massif of Ecrins. Two people have disappeared and one was able to make it out with no harm whatsoever, according to an agency's report.

The accident occurred approximately around midday (local hour) at the top of a village near Pelvoux, a place where amateur climbers usually visit given that its hike its relatively easy.

Snow dragged the athletes through the mountain until it buried them, although there is still not much information, it has been informed that a rescue crew is on the look out for the other victims. Some media outlets, such as ABC Spain, reported that the incident left 7 and not 5 deaths, as they assume that the two people who are missing are deceased too.
