New program to raise awareness about keeping the city's streets clean

TIJUANA.- Today Tijuana's mayor, Dr. Jorge Aztiazarán Orcí started the "Activate Your Broom" program, which aims at keeping the streets and avenues clean to better the city's urban image.

During the event, which took place in the Lomas de la Amistad neighborhood, the city's major noted that with the implementation of said program, it's expected to raise awareness in all of the tijuanenses to keep the sidewalks front of their houses in better conditions by helping with the cleaning and keeping trash off the streets.

For its part, La Mesa's representative, Ranier Falcón Martínez, explained that with the local "Activate Your Broom" program, residents will be participating in the delimitation of the area in order to raise awareness and make every neighbor take charge of garbage collection duties, so that the streets and avenues look neat and clean.

The secretary of the city's Social Development department, Rodolfo López Fajardo, Rubén Vizcaíno Valencia's elementary school principal, Fernando Ramírez Zavala, as well as the school's students and residents of the Lomas de la Amistad were there.
