Old Foxploration Studio in Rosarito to Host 2016 Baja Fest

La Ballena de Jonas will be the main performance

ROSARITO.- The International Day of Tourism is September 27th, but the Ministry of Tourism of Baja California will celebrate it on October 1st at the Baja Studios in Rosarito (formally known as Foxploration), a fact that makes it more special because the place is now closed to the general public but will open for this festival.

There's not much information about the event, but it will certainly have the essentials for a really good one: Food, beer, wine, and music, the latter which will com from artists such as Takon Machine, DJ Chucuchu, and La Ballena de Jonas, a band that mixes polka, tango, jazz, electric sounds and klezmer to create a very original proposal that takes you to a different level of sound.

At the moment there's no official date and time for the event and the entrance costs are still not available, but a free admission or a give-away of courtesy tickets is tentative.

After being the chosen studio to film movies such as Titanic, Pearl Harbor, and Master of Commander, the hype was soon forgotten due to the region's economy and violence of that time. After that, Foxploration became a theme park where families could enjoy a nice day surrounded by film fun facts, professional makeup workshops, and interactive areas, until they closed for good in 2007.

It's been brought back with minor productions and some major ones, like the TV series Fear the Walking Dead, so it would be very interesting to see how this event will turn out. Baja Fest is calling and you should definitely go and experience this studio as you never seen it before.
