UABC Students Win Bronze Medals at Latin American Physics Olympiad

They competed against students from Cuba, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, among others

BAJA CALIFORNIA.- Two students of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) obtained bronze medals after participating in the First Latin American University Olympiad of Physics, where they competed against other 28 universities of Latin America.

About nine UABC students participated in this competition against another 108 students from Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Argentina, El Salvador and Guatemala.

Of the 29 medals that were given in this Olympics, two were obtained by the Baja California students Jose Carlos Carvajal García and Osvaldo Rosales Pérez, who managed to position themselves in places 18th and 19th of the ranking, respectively.

This event was organized by the Cuban Society of Physics, the University of Havana, the Latin American Center of Physics and the Unesco.
