Tijuana Taxi Company Gets Concession Revoked After Passenger Death

This as consequence of a driver's negligence

TIJUANA.- After a unit of the public transport belonging to the company called UNTIMA fell from the Mexico Bridge after not keeping its lane and going to excess speed, the Mayor of Tijuana and the Transportation Director began a cancellation process for the company.

According to the authorities, this accident happened due to the negligence of the driver, identified as Angel Flores Galicia, who was driving a unit from the Union of Transport Mariano Matamoros (UNITMA), economic number 4, plates 6024ZNE, model 2015, and with capacity for 26 passengers.

Javier Salas Espinoza, the Municipal Director of Public Transport points out that the company has its documents in order, and the corresponding insurance; however, they will wait for the driver to receive his guilty verdict to withdraw the license.

Public transport companies and entrepreneurs have been asked to teach their staff about the risks of carelessness.
