Two More Foreign Gas Stations Will Invest in Tijuana Before the End of the Year

"Arco" is already operating in the city

Chevron and British Petroleum (BP) companies want to start operations in the city before the year ends, their interest in Tijuana is to have greater competition, said the Tijuana Gas Station Owners Association (APEGT).

Currently, Arco is the first American company that sells imported fuel, and already has a month operating in our city, while other foreign gas stations in Baja California use the product of Pemex.

Despite wanting to start operating very soon, Alejandro Borja, APEGT adviser, says that neither Chevron nor BP have decided whether to use imported or Pemex gasoline, but also mentions that if they use Mexican product they can add some additive to improve the performance.

"Chevron and British Petroleum are companies that have already shown interest and want to stay in the city. I do not know under what conditions, but what we do know is that before the end of 2017 they will be here as part of the competition that generated the energy reform since it came into force."

The arrival of transnational companies will have an impact on local gas stations that will have to improve their service and quality to compete widely.
