Everyone in the city of Tijuana has witnessed the arrival of one of the largest waves of immigrants in recent years, those from Haiti, who have made the city their temporary or permanent home since 2016.

Thousands of men, women and children have now settled here, becoming part of society with jobs in services, construction and even academia.

Several of the women settled while in early pregnancy, so according to data from the General Hospital of Tijuana, and according to the newspaper El Mexicano, 32 children of Haitian parents were born in the city in healthy conditions.

The Tijuana General Hospital is authorized to assist all those women in a state of pregnancy that require medical attention, regardless of nationality, age, ideology or legal status.
