There is no doubt, since Tijuana Mayor Karla Ruiz Macfarland became mayor, issues that had been forgotten by her predecessor's administration have been taken up and strengthened: one of these is the protection of the region's flora and fauna.

In previous articles we had highlighted that the Tijuana City Hall, headed by Ruiz Macfarland, was trying to foster a culture of care and protection of the city's plants and animals.

About this, we have verified that since February 21 they started a series of activities in order to preserve the lungs of the city. This began with a day of reforestation of trees in the popular Morelos Park.

At that time 850 trees were transplanted in the nursery area, in addition the oriental garden was reforested with 130 laurel rose bushes and 150 melaleuca bushes were added in an area known as "cola de zorra" (fox tail). According to the information provided, the goal is to plant 40 thousand trees.

In addition to this, last week, the Municipal System of Theme Parks of Tijuana (Simpatt) signed an agreement with the Invictus Foundation, this signature will aim to monitor the animal life of the Morelos and Amistad parks.

According to a press release published by the Tijuana City Hall, this foundation will also provide advice "on legal, administrative, technical and clinical medical-behavioral issues regarding the rescue, rehabilitation, relocation and even release of fauna victims of human incidence".

Azahel Mercedes Puente Camarena, director of the municipal agency, thanked Mayor Ruiz Macfarland for creating a culture of care in these important issues for the city.
