The Mayor of Tijuana, Karla Ruiz Macfarland, continues with her efforts to improve the quality of life of Tijuana residents, which is why she has been able to promote and improve the care of the city's green areas. She has also provided new garbage collection equipment and will implement an air quality monitoring network.

According to the City Council, in terms of green areas, more than 850 trees have been transplanted in the nursery area of Morelos Park, the eastern arboretum was reforested with 130 laurel rose bushes and 150 melaleuca bushes were added in an area known as "cola de zorra" (fox tail).

The best part is that the goal is to plant a total of 40 thousand trees. Likewise, the government headed by Ruiz Macfarland signed an agreement with the Invictus Foundation. The objective of this agreement is to monitor the animal life of the Morelos and Amistad parks.

On the other hand, actions have been initiated to solve the garbage problem, which has been a problem for many administrations and has caused the formation of several illegal garbage dumps. For this reason, the Mayor delivered cargo vehicles to the Municipal Directorate of Public Services.

And not forgetting the most recent contribution that will improve the care of the environment and the health of the population, the implementation of an air quality monitoring network in Tijuana. This project will be binational.

This important initiative will be developed in conjunction with the California Air Resources Board, whose goal is to reduce pollutant emissions on both sides of the border, consolidating once again the relationship with our U.S. neighbors.
