Marina del Pilar presides over patrol cars delivery in Tecate

The Governor wants to strengthen security measures to bring protection to Tecate natives

This Thursday Morning, Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, visited the city of Tecate to make an official delivery of five patrol cars that will be used by the Municipality Police of Tecate, where it is expected they can be used to great effect by the authorities.

These patrol cars will boost municipal operativity at least by 80%, which will allow officers to have a wider margin to patrol the streets and protect the Tecate population.

Along with Tecate Mayor, Édgar Darío Benítez Ruiz, the governor acknowledged the municipality’s work in reducing crime rate, which has in fact happened since October 2021 when he first came into office.

Despite the results, Marina del Pilar emphasized that, in order to achieve security measures goals, there is still much to do. This is why mechanisms for strengthening coordination between authorities are required.

Meanwhile, Benítez Ruiz recognized the Governor’s support in delivering the patrol cars, as well as Secretary of Citizen Safety of Baja California, General Gilberto Landeros Briseño’s disposition to work together to achieve peace in Tecate.

Additionally, he spoke about the importance of including mechanisms to bring justice to Tecate homes who have been victims of organized crime, by bringing those responsible to justice.

The event took place in the Police Formation and Training Center (CENFOCAP). Baja California State Prosecutor, Ricardo Iván Caripo Sánchez; Security of Tecate Director, Enrique Trujillo; Legislator President of the State Congress Public Security Commission, Rosa García; and Representative President of Congress Security Commission, Isaías Bertín Sandoval, were all present too.
