Tacos With Muchachos try some Mexicali tacos in Tijuana

These Cachanilla taqueria serves quite unusual meat cuts

The goal of Tacos With Muchachos is to visit a variety of taquerias in Baja California where they can find all the styles, seasoning, and presentations that these places’ tacos have to offer. This time the chosen taqueria was Asadero Tecolote.

Asadero Tecolote is a Mexicali taqueria located in Tijuana which offers quite unusual types of tacos such as “La Costra”, where the “tortilla” is made out of griddled cheese crust which is then filled with asada and adobada meat.

One of the things that should be noted about Asadero Tecolote is that they don’t use the same kind of meat that other taquerias use, for their meat cuts are more unusual and fresher. Some of these meat cuts are Rib Eye, Sirloin, and New York.

This Tacos With Muchachos segment was part of one of the most recent episodes of Baja Window to the South where other topics were discussed: the off-road Baja California races of SCORE International and Fundación Castro-Limón, organizations that create events that attract tourists to this state from all around the world.

In Tacos With Muchachos, Scott Koenig will be inviting different personalities to try out different kinds of tacos, and on this occasion, his guest was the wonderful Tony Tee.
