Raising funds for Tecate chef, Marcelo Hisaki, participant of prestigious worldwide gastronomic competition

Costs to represent Mexico at the competition that will take place in Chile are expensive

Chef and owner of Restaurante Amores, Marcelo Hisaki, located in Tecate, Baja California, surprised everyone with the news that he will compete at the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Americas for a second time. It should be noted that he won the Bocuse d’Or Mexico in 2019.

However, the costs to represent Mexico in Chile, where the contest will take place, are expensive which is why Ana Fernanda Castro, Marcelo’s friend, decided to start a GoFundMe so that anyone who wishes to help Chef Marcelo may do so, so that he can be the winner of this international competition.

“We are supporting Chef Marcelo Hisaki in his Continental Competition, where he is Representing Mexico in the Bocuse d’Or Americas competition. Marcelo won the Bocuse d’Or Mexico award in 2019, and he now needs our support so he can go to Chile to represent Mexico,” the website states.

Marcelo is a Mexico City native and has both Mexican and Japanese roots. Currently he resides in Tecate, Baja California where he works at Amores restaurant which recently celebrated the chef and invited the community to attend a dinner cooked by him.
