Cold front #28 will cause frosts in Baja California

We will experience a lot of cold in the mornings and evenings

This morning, the National Commission of Water (CONAGUA) highlighted that Baja California will not have any rain throughout this new cold front, but frosts will indeed occur; temperatures in mountainous areas could reach -10°C (14°F). Rain will occur in the rest of the country.

National Meteorological Services highlighted that the rain could increase the levels of rivers and streams, mudslides, and floods.

As such, the cold air mass coming from the north will cover most of Mexico, which is why this event is being forecasted as being very strong and intense with gusts of 120 km/hr, with waves reaching 3 to 5 meters in height at the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec and the coasts of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, and Tabasco. Gusts of 70 km/hr and waves reaching 1 to 3 meters high will also occur in Campeche and Yucatán.

The forecast also contemplates isolated showers in Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Tlaxcala, Mexico City, and the State of Mexico.

The agency also forecasted thick fog banks in central states, at Sierra Madre Oriental, and in the Mexican southeast; cold to very cold mornings with frost in the northwest, north, northeast, east, and central Mexico, as well as icy climates in the mountains of Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, and Zacatecas.

In addition, an anticyclone circulation at mid-levels in the atmosphere will create low chances of rain in western and southern Mexico.
