Street foods are some of the favorite dishes of many people because they are affordable and tasty. Undoubtedly, Mexico has some of the best street foods in the world, however, not everything is good news here because though some people think these dishes are delicious, others don’t have the same opinion.

TasteAtlas is a website that informs people about world gastronomy, from the best to the worst food. Recently, they shared a list where they reveal the worst street foods in Mexico. In this article, we list the dishes you can find in Tijuana which, according to this website, are the worst in the country.

6.- Adobada Taco

This traditional and beloved taco is in the Top 10 of the worst street foods with a rating of 3.8. Though many prefer this taco over what most taquerias offer, TasteAtlas reviews seem to think the opposite.

5.- Tripe

This is a controversial dish with two sides as there are people who really like it and people who really hate it. Tripe tacos in Tijuana are not that common and whenever taquerias do serve them, servings tend to be pretty small. On this list, this dish got a rating of 3.8.

4.- Bean Taco with Cheese

A classic, quick, simple, and delicious dish, however, this list rated it as one of the worst with a rating of 3.7. It should be noted that each person has a different way of making beans, as they can be grounded, refried, or whole, and a different way of using spices, which is why the variety of flavors is wide. However, this dish may seem very simple when compared with other Mexican gastronomic delicacies.

Another very common dish, this is for someone who wants to eat something that doesn’t take a long time to make and can be combined with a lot of ingredients. However, not all TasteAtlas experts like it which is why it got a rating of 3.7.

2.- Cuban Torta

This is a variety of torta with a lot of ingredients, which is why it is found on this list. Besides the bread there are a variety of meats, cold meats, vegetables, and even eggs that are used for this torta. Each torta depends on the cook and each person’s own tastes. On this list, it got a rating of 3.6.

1.- Tamal Torta

Also known as “guajolota”, this is a tamal that is put inside a birote bread. Sometimes it is drenched with a little bit of salsa. However, the great conflict here is eating a dough with another dough, which is why it got a rating of 3.4. and was crowned as the “Worst Street Food in Mexico”.
