It is claimed that new Otay II port of entry will be finished in December

Governor Marina del Pilar will supervise the project’s progress

Construction of the new Otay II port of entry into the United States will be finished in December of this year, according to the person in charge of the project, Manzano Vélez.

Currently, the project is 25% complete, but the person in charge, from the Mexican government, claimed that this was a slow process due to the liberation of the right of way.

This ambitious project will guarantee a faster border crossing to the United States and has a cost of $5.7 billion pesos.

In an interview for media outlets, the state governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda claimed that there will be a meeting soon to inspect this project’s progress. It should be noted that there are still some properties whose owners haven’t been located, but 90% of properties are already ready.

It is estimated that Otay II will be one of the most modern and important ports of entry in the world; there will also be an elevated 8-lane viaduct that will connect the Tijuana-Tecate highway with Avenida Las Torres. About this, Marina del Pilar said:

It is a first-rate project of almost 100 million pesos and it will benefit the mobility of Tijuana very much.
