State Attorney General fires official in Tijuana due to possible corruption

A Tijuana official has been fired and it is suspected that it is due to an act of corruption

While making rounds to verify proper assistance, Attorney General Ma. Elena Andrade Ramírez of the Unit of Detainees of La Mesa Delegation detected a possible act of corruption in flagrante by an official of the Public Ministry against citizens.

People notified that the Public Ministry assistant, that until that moment was working at that office, had asked them for cash to handle their case.

This is what Andrade Ramírez stated:

It won't be tolerated that an official of the State Attorney General Office asks for money or goods in exchange for resolving an investigation.

The employee was fired immediately and, in addition, investigations are currently ongoing to establish whether she or whoever is responsible should be prosecuted.

Moreover, the State Attorney General Office asked Internal Affairs to handle the case and to thoroughly investigate all of this unit's departments and areas.

We invite all citizens to report any type of corruption by any official of this agency.
