Marina del Pilar administration and Public Welfare deliver 12 completely equipped ambulances

The governor of Baja California highlighted the importance of supporting vulnerable people through Public Welfare

Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, carried out 700 aid deliveries valued at 26 million pesos for vulnerable people. Done in collaboration with Public Welfare, the standout here is the delivery of 12 ambulances as a strategy to strengthen health services in the state; it also includes the delivery of breast implants, hearing aids, hearing devices, and knee prosthetics.

In her speech, the state governor highlighted that this is the first time the government of Baja California, in coordination with civil society, has done this type of campaign that will benefit inhabitants in all the corners of the state.

"When we took office two years ago, we found a DIF that had been forgotten, paralyzed, and in very sad conditions. I told my team: this cannot continue like this. DIF has to recover its role as a benefactor and as a provider. DIF must walk hand in hand with the families of Baja California," she stated.

Marina del Pilar claimed that the aid they are delivering at this event will reach the people who need it the most, places that previous administrations had forgotten or put aside.

Marina del Pilar also thanked the support of civil society in the making of this campaign, and reaffirmed her government's commitment in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable groups who require prioritized assistance in society.

"With the example and leadership of our president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and our governments, we are recovering the essence and the spirit of Public Welfare, a Juarez-founded institution that for more than a century and a half has been an international reference," she concluded.

The governor explained that Public Welfare consists of private wealth, whose assets are managed by the Secretariat of Health of Mexico through the General Agency of the Public Welfare Administration, which works together with our government through DIF.

It should be noted that aid will be delivered to low-income people that live in rural and urban areas of all the municipalities in the state of Baja California.

At this event, the following people were present: state DIF president, Mavis Olmeda; managing director of DIF BC, Mónica Vargas Núñez; Secretary of Wellbeing, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui; Secretary of Health, Adrián Medina; managing director of the Wealth Administration of Public Welfare, Adrián Benítez; and community representatives.
