Snowfall is here! These places in California have been covered in white

National Weather Service has announced snowfall in several different places in California

Winter is here! A few days ago, it was revealed that California would welcome strong frosty winds alongside snow, something that surprised and excited those who love the cold.

It seems like today, at around 11 AM, a light snowfall began at Laguna Mountain, located in San Diego County, California. This place is located inside the Cleveland National Forest to the west of the San Diego County Road S1, next to Sunrise Highway.

It was through a video posted by the Laguna Mountain Lodge that we were able to see this beautiful weather phenomenon and it is expected that temperature continues to drop and snow continues to fall in the next few hours.

Snow Safety Tips

Before going to a place with snow, you should consider several things and factors, some of which are:

  • Research: checking your destination and restrictions, and finding out the exact weather conditions of where you're going is essential, that way you can pack proper equipment.
  • Only the essentials: Packing warm clothes is sometimes not enough, because beyond it being warm, your clothes and accessories have to be made specially to be used in the snow, including waterproof boots, gloves, scarves, and hats.
  • Safety: If you're doing activities in the mountains, it is important that you learn all about avalanches, tell someone about your schedule, and have a fully charged phone.

In addition, you have to keep an eye on weather conditions and be aware if your body feels any effect from low temperatures or high altitudes in the mountains.

How long will the snowfall last?

National Weather Service issued a snowfall warning regarding certain areas of California a few hours ago, which is why they are urging people to take precautions. It should be noted that the snowfall will be active until 8 PM.

This will take place at Sierra Nevada specifically, a mountain range located mostly in California. It is recommended that you avoid highways as conditions are dangerous to travel in and it may even be impossible to go through.
