Marina del Pilar strengthens crime prevention in San Felipe

10 new patrol cars were delivered to the Municipal Police of San Felipe

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, led the delivery of musical instruments for the Children and Young People's Symphonic Orchestra "Mar de Cortés" alongside the delivery of 10 new patrol cars as part of the crime prevention policies in the region.

During her speech, the state governor highlighted the importance of this act, where children received musical instruments while giving brave local police officers, who risk their lives every day to protect the port's inhabitants, their equipment. This act underscored the close relation between security and culture to prevent crime.

In addition, she emphasized that police forces will be a priority with new vehicle units, whose value has increased to an investment of 9.2 million pesos. This approach reflects the work carried out together between the federation, the state, and the municipality to provide a safe environment for Baja Californian families.

The municipality of San Felipe at first only had 3 police cars, and now has 30, which are focused on providing security for the municipality's inhabitants and the tourists that arrives here every Holy Week and other significant regional dates, Governor Marina del Pilar stated.

In addition, she reaffirmed her government's commitment with the promotion of peace and harmony using culture, arts, and sports as tools and strategies of prevention and security.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Citizen Security of Baja California, General Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar Durán, spoke about the importance of the state's support for the new municipality that is San Felipe. He highlighted that the presence of culture at this event is not a coincidence, as it is looking to provide greater opportunities for young people. He emphasized the need to have proper equipment to guarantee people's security.

For her part, the Secretary of Culture, Alma Delia Ábrego Ceballos, shared that in early 2024 cultural representation in San Felipe was established as part of a restructuring in order to promote the development of artistic and cultural activities in the region. She also pointed out that the Music State System has experienced significant growth, with more than 4,500 students enrolled in all of Baja California and the creation of more than 40 music groups.

D.EM Vicente Javier Mandujano Acevedo, Military Commander of San Felipe; and Senior Agent Martín Bonilla Francisco, Head of the Communication Line Station of the National Guard of San Felipe.
