Marina del Pilar makes progress with new Bienestar clinic in Tijuana

More than 40,000 people will receive free medical care through this health center

The government of Baja California, led by Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, carried out the opening of the first Clínica del Bienestar, named "El Ranchito", as part of actions meant to provide medical care for people who live in the eastern end of Tijuana.

As such, primary care services are provided in communities with greater needs of health access, which are meant for people at large, prioritizing people who are not affiliated, Governor Marina del Pilar explained.

Clínica del Bienestar "El Ranchito" has the potential to benefit 40,656 people of colonias El Ranchito, Villa del Campo, Parejas Del Valle, and Villa del Campo 2da Sección where 9 schools with more than 5,000 children and teenagers are located, the state governor said.

Services are completely free and include medical consultations, dentists, optometry (including vision exams and glasses), medications, lab studies, ultrasounds, mammograms, cataracts, and colposcopy, Marina del Pilar explained.

Working hours are from Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM, and a telephonic appointment system will be set up at the following number (664) 799 79 78.

Previously, the closest health center to the El Ranchito community was located more than 12 kilometers away, which meant long travels, which is why some users expressed their joy at having this new Bienestar clinic.

"We are very happy because they paid attention to this eastern area, we thought the trip was way too long. As a father I am very happy because our children and us can receive medical assistance," José Manuel Sánchez Candelario stated, after receiving a consultation and medication.

The governor announced that Tijuana will have three Bienestar clinics: El Niño, El Ranchito, and Chihuahua, located in areas that for many years had been forgotten.

Besides these three clinics, the governor recalled that they are building three hospitals in Baja California: one in eastern Tijuana, the IMSS Bienestar hospital in Ensenada, and the first hospital in San Felipe.

"We are coming here with this Bienestar clinics to provide assistance, to bring this health right to all people, for us it is essential that this wellbeing issue includes health and safety," she said.

Lastly, the Secretary of Wellbeing, Juan Francisco Garza, said that these investments are way over 58 million pesos, and include complete infrastructure, medical care, medications, and odonatological assistance in order to offer complete and high-quality care to the entire community.
