Total and intermittent closure at Avenida Internacional due to construction of Elevated Viaduct is announced

This work is due to the beginning of a large-scale structure assembly

The Municipal Administration of Tijuana has revealed information about the upcoming total and intermittent closure of Avenida Internacional. This is a result of the continuity of the "Elevated Viaduct" mega project which is being carried out by the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), which is looking to help the development and growth of the city. During this closure, columns will be installed.

These projects, part of the beginning of a large-scale structure assembly, will begin on Tuesday, April 15, and it consists of the total and intermittent closure of Avenida Internacional which will be taking place from 11 PM to 4 AM.

As part of this project, on June 18, multiple actions will begin simultaneously regarding this project which will result in partial closures during the day plus the total night closures. These activities will be scheduled to take place during the summer school holidays in order to take advantage of low vehicular traffic.

Alternate routes will be enabled in each direction. On the way from Playas de Tijuana to Vía Rápida Poniente, people will be able to use Avenida Venustiano Carranza and the lateral lane of Avenida Internacional to then incorporate themselves into Calle Alberto Aldrete, cross the vehicular bridge to Colonia Federal so as to then get onto Puente México so as to then reincorporate themselves into Vía Rápida.

On the way from Vía Rápida to Playas de Tijuana, the detour will consist of entering through the detour at Calle Alberto Aldrete and then take Calle Francisco I. Madero towards 3rd Street to then drive towards this destination.

The night closure will be from Tuesday, April 16 to August 31 and there will be adequate traffic signs, which is why the Municipal Administration of Tijuana asks citizens for their understanding and to take precautions.

Municipal Transit will collaborate in these areas in order to help the city's mobility in a safe manner.
