The Political Spring of Mexico

Le Monde, El Pais, The New York Times and the LA Times are just some of the viewers of the "Mexican Spring"

Mexico is in an intellectual war on the Internet. The tag # marchayosoy132 is one of the most used in the country, and has been a spotlight topic for days. As a social phenomenon we also find the "ectivismo", activities in favor of a cause via the Internet, groups of people using the same information to highlight an issue (in Twitter language, create a trending topic). There are people against and in favor; also emerging is a method of false accounts deliberately created and used for these cases, which are called "bots"

Through social networks and the Internet, there is a lot of information in favor and against the Mexican candidates; there's also a petition made to the UN to observe the electoral process on July 1 to ensure a transparent election. A group called "Anonymous" has even been called to inspect the system that Hildebrando, a company hired by the Electoral Federal Institute (IFE) to add up the vote count, will use.

"The Mexican Spring" is inspiring the world, it is no coincidence that the New York Times, the BBC,Le Monde and El Pais among others, are talking about this political awakening where the voice of youth is the echo of the situation of a country that wants to grow. They even applaud the effort and consider it something that could be repeated elsewhere in the world.

We live in a historic moment, the elections in Mexico are adding up to the wave of global change. In Europe there is an economic crisis and the new governments such as the French, is evidence that people are not willing to stay the same, they are looking for governments to give a radical change to what they are experiencing today, and Mexico is no exception.
