Xolos travels to Querétaro for 3 points

The border team has been undefeated on the last 7 matches

TIJUANA, BC.- After what happened on Wednesday, where Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente said good bye to the Copa MX on the Quaterfinals, the border crew wants to continue its good run on Liga MX, and to do so the squad will have to take on the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro at Estadio Corregidora.

The game will be part of Week 10 of the Mexican Primera División Apertura 2012 tournament and will start at 3PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Querétaro are having their worst season since their return at the top level of soccer in Mexico; Gallos are the only team in the league without a single so far. The team from El Bajío has 2 ties and 7 defeats, which means only 2 points on their account. They currently seat on the last place of the standings.

What about their offensive power? It does not exist with only 5 goals in the last 9 matches, which reflects on the poor work done by the defense with 18 against.

The two sides have a rich history on their rivalry in Liga de Ascenso, Mexico's soccer second level, but on First Division Club Tijuana have won once and tied the other.

Coach Antonio Mohamed will surely use his 4-3-3 formation which has resulted in a team that gives a big show in the field; Cirilo Saucedo will be guarding the goal, and will have the support from American Édgar Castillo and Juan Carlos Núñez on both sides of the field. Meanwhile Captain Javier Gandolfi and Pablo César Aguilar will be working as central defenders. Aguilar is very motivated for this game as he has just been called to the Paraguayan National team for the pre-list to play against Colombia and Peru, 2 qualification matches to get to the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 Finals.

The midfield has been the key for Tijuana this season, thanks to Argentinian Cristian Pellerano, Tijuana-born Fernando Arce, and Brazilian-Mexican Leandro Augusto.

On the attacking line, Californian Joe Corona will play on the left wing, with an inspired Colombian Duvier Riascos on the right. The player from the coffee country has scored 3 goals in the last 3 matches. On the center Argentinian Alfredo "Chango" Moreno will look to score his 128 goal on Mexican soccer.

Xoloitzcuintles continues its Mexican road trip; the team visited Ciudad Victoria on Wednesday where they played against UAT Correcaminos, now they have to play on Querétaro, before traveling on Sunday to Monterrey, Nuevo León, where the team will take on Rayados on Wednesday.

Xolos' next match will take place on Sunday, October 7, against Diablos Rojos from Toluca. The game will be played at Estadio Caliente in the afternoon.
