There are 10 categories that make up the Gourmet Awards, and those categories are:

The variety of flavors and styles were represented by Baja California with nominations in the following categories: Best Tasting Menu : Manzanilla from Ensenada, Best Independent Blog : Life&Food, Best Hotel Restaurant : Corazon de Tierra in Valle de Guadalupe and Best New Restaurant : Misión 19 in Tijuana along with Corazon de Tierra.

The awards were given on Tuesday night October 23rd, and two Baja California restaurants came back with awards, Mission 19 with best new restaurant and Corazon de Tierra with best hotel restaurant.

Something very notable in the categories for best new restaurant, is that both of these restaurants from Baja California have not been in business for more than two years, that only comes to show the great gastronomic progress and development that this region has gone through, which has also at the same time been changing the perception of this region to the world.

These awards also motivate us to get to know the different corners of Mexico, which all of them are very unique in their own way.
