South America ready for Xolos in the Copa Libertadores tournament

On December 21st the opponents will be announced

BRASILIA, BRAZIL. – For the first time ever in the Copa Libertadores tournament a team from Baja California will be competing, and to be more specific it will be a team from Tijuana, who will take part in the largest South American tournament, where many teams from the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol) will be competing in, and who are also waiting to face the red and black team from Tijuana.

Xolos now add to the list of the first 25 teams who have qualified for Copa Libertadores, which many teams from 11 different countries are included.

Qualifying as the 2nd team from Mexico, Xolos will not have to play in the playoffs phase for a spot into the second round, where Xolos are already in and will be place into a group where they must perform well, which will then get them to the next phase of the tournament where they will be playing in the one game elimination rounds leading towards the final.

So far the teams who have qualified for the tournament are Arsenal and Tigre from Argentina, The Stronges and San Jose from Bolivia, while Brazil has Corinthians, Fluminense, Palmeiras, Gremio and Atletico Mineiro.

The teams representing Chile in the tournament are University of Chile and Iquique, while Columbia will have Santa Fe, and the team from Ecuador will be Barcelona.

Paraguay for the moment only has Cerro Porteño qualified, and the teams from Peru are Sporting Crystal and Real Garcilaso.

From Uruguay it will be "el Nacional", Peñarol, and Defensor Sporting.

Teams from Venezuela will be Deportivo Lara, Caracas and Deportivo Anzoategui.

Tijuana along with Toluca are in and Leon as well, but there are still vacant spots to fill still in the tournament, but on December 21st the raffle will take place where Xolos will know what teams they will be facing off, which in Brazil they are already waiting for Tijuana.

Worthy to mention is that in Brasilia, which is the capital of Brazil, they do not have a professional soccer team neither in a Division one or Two league, but they still like the "futebol", and are expecting the participation of the team from Tijuana, which in this city they are fans of the current tournament defending champions, Corinthians.

The probabilities that Tijuana will have a Brazilian team in their group is very likely, but the diehard fans of this red and black team already know the quality of players this team has that will be representing this Mexican city.

There are still a lot of people who cannot pronounce this team's name, and only know that they are from Tijuana because of the bad press that the city gets, due to the bad things that happen here in the daily life of its citizens, but this can all change very soon for this city located in Baja California, which it will be better known for all the good things it has to offer including this great team that has achieved a lot in just the last 2 years.
