Important information you must know

Expired driver's license, increased insurance payments, DUI classes, imprisonment, fines and other expenses that can add up to $ 12,000 is what you could face if you go through a checkpoint while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The checkpoint locations have not been revealed yet, but it was announced that they will take place this Saturday November 24th from 9p.m. to 3a.m.

It is proven that these checkpoints help reduce car accidents and other events related to alcohol and other toxic substances since they have been implemented.

When warning notices are published, it is estimated that it helps reduce accidents more by about 20% because of the fear from severe punishments, which people then prefer to stay home and play it safe in a more healthy and responsible environment.

In addition to the checkpoints, there will be more patrols units in the streets and officers on motorcycles for this holiday weekend. Citizens are also being asked to please help in this effort to by calling 911 if they see a drunk driver on the road.

Always be aware of your surroundings and report drunk drivers and never be one of them.
