Singer Jenni Rivera dies in plane crash

She was the most important singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman and Mexican-American producer

A few moments ago the Mexican news network Milenio reported finding what they described as a black patch, and remnants of clothing according to the correspondent that is also reporting as parts from the plane that the popular singer was riding in.

The place that the plane was located was a little over a hundred miles of Monterrey, in a place known as La Colorada. The Monterrey newspaper El Norte said that the remains of the aircraft were found near the ranch The Tejocote, located in the limits of Iturbide Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas.

This morning the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (Mexicos version of the FAA) had also confirmed the disappearance of the plane that ran the route Monterrey-Toluca. The flight log indicates that the last contact made with the plane was at 3:22 pm when it was 67 miles southwest of Monterrey.

Janney Dolores Rivera Savedra, better known as Jenni Rivera, was born on July 2, 1969 in Long Beach, California.

She was the most important singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman and Mexican-American producer, and is also known by her fans as "La Diva de la Banda", which in recent years she has become the top female figure and the most successful artist of the Regional Mexican Genre to date.

The Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico just confirmed to the media of the singers death as being now a fact.
