RIVERSIDE, CA.- With the objective of getting more international visitors to get to know Tijuana, the Tourism and Conventions Board (Cotuco in Spanish) and the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) from Baja California, will have the advantage of the participation of Xolos in the Copa Libertadores de América 2013 tournament.
First Division level soccer has brought many benefits to the border town, because when Xolos play at Estadio Caliente, people travel to Tijuana more often and fill up the bars and restaurants throughout the city, leaving great economic benefits.
The team has also given the border region another face, and there has been more good news coming out of the city than before.[/p][/p]
To take advantage of the visit from SC Corinthians Paulista from Brazil, San José Oruro from Bolivia and Millonarios from Colombia, Cotuco and Sectur will visit the zone of residency of these South American communities in Southern California to invite them to go visit Tijuana during the Copa Libertadores tournament games.
Visitors are preparing their luggage
Apart from the government's efforts, some of these communities in the Greater Los Angeles area are preparing to visit Tijuana to support their own teams. As of right now, Millonarios has some dozens of Colombian citizens who reside in Southern California preparing their luggage to travel to the red and black city.
Even followers of Corinthians in Los Angeles are preparing a trip, and are planning to get together with the hundreds of supporters whom will be travelling from São Paulo, Brazil, to the northern "corner of Latin America" to support the Timão.
