For some time now, there has been talk about setting up an office in Tijuana for Binational affairs that would serve as a link for the San Diego and Tijuana region.

This plan will now move forward which at the head of this office in Tijuana will be Mario Lopez. This appointment was made official on Monday by Mayor Bob Filner, who during a press conference unveiled its mayoral staff.

The relationship between San Diego and Tijuana is a very important and vital for the economic growth of both cities.

Lopez is one of 9 Latinos who make up the diverse team of Bob Filner, who had a lot of support from the Latino community in these past elections :
