Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente is the fifth best team in Mexico and number 217th in the world.
The ranking of teams from all over the world on this list are determined by the opponents that these teams play against, type of tournaments they win and play in.
These rankings are based only on statistics and not on popularity like other lists.
Xolos are right behind teams like: Tigres de la Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UALN), 4th in Mexico and 213 worldwide, Cruz Azul who is the 3rd best team in Mexico and the 100th best club worldwide, "Santos" 2nd best in Mexico and the 74th best club worldwide, and finally the best team in Mexico, Rayados de Monterrey, which thanks to their third place finish in the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup tournament, they are ranked as the 42nd best soccer (football) club worldwide.
Based on the results from the Apertura 2012 tournament, where Xolos were also able to capture the championship title, they have now moved up 55 spots in this list after previously being in the 272nd spot at the beginning of December 2012.
It is important to highlight that since Xolos have begun their participation in Division One of the Mexican soccer league, they have added up 84 points so far.
If Xolos continue to do well this month in a season they have just begun, they will easily move up a couple of more position in the rankings, which Tigres is also only four spots ahead of them and is also having a good start in their season.
