Interview with race car driver Jorge Cevallos

Mexico's motorsport rising star is already a professional racing driver in Europe

"It`s very difficult to open a path to Formula One, people aren't used to it, but is something is growing very quickly in America. There is a new circuit in Texas and there are a few drivers over in Europe, Alexander Rossi and Conor Daly, they are the two top drivers that are knocking at the door of Formula One, and hopefully I will be there soon as well. We are pushing hard to open the door and create new fans for the sport", said the young professional driver.

In recent months, the good news for Mexican professional race car drivers has not stopped coming in. Last year when the retirement of Michael Schumacher from the Mercedes team was announced, this move caused almost a domino effect that led to Mexican Formula 1 race car driver Sergio "Checo" Pérez, to join McLaren. Checo's move also shifted race car driver, Esteban Gutierrez, to join Sauber which makes him now the 2nd Mexican driver in Formula One for this 2013 season.

The most important thing in this sport is to have well-trained drivers like Jorge Cevallos, who will be experienced enough and ready to take the baton when opportunity comes.

At the moment, the eyes of race car fans of Tijuana and San Diego are set on the driver from Baja California, Jorge Cevallos.

Fans that know and are waiting for the day that the young driver finally gets to compete in Formula One. The talent is there, it's just a matter of time.
