He will be replacing Jupp Heynckes

The rumors are over, through a press release it has been confirmed that Pep Guardiola will be the new head coach for FC Bayern Munich of Germany, and will be replacing current head coach Jupp Heynckes as of June, 2013.

Guardiola signed a contract to be the head coach of this soccer team until 2016.

The news was also announced on Bayern Munich's official Twitter account: "perfect! Pep Guardiola will be the Bayern Munich head coach from July to 2016. Heynckes will finish his career at the end of the season."

Before Christmas break, Jupp Heynckes was considering retiring from coaching at the end of the season.

Pep Guardiola is one of the more successful coaches in the world and we are certain that he can bring a lot of luster not just to Bayern Munich, but also to German football."

Pep will be officially announced as the head coach on Friday, and it looks like Raul could possibly be his assistant.
