Mexican navy searches for missing ship

A coastal patrol boat found two unidentified bodies early Tuesday near the Marias islands

MEXICO.- Mexican navy vessels are searching for a freighter that vanished last Friday in the Pacific with six people aboard, the Naval Secretariat said on a statement.

The San Andres, who provides logistic support ot the prison camp on the island, sailed from the western port of Mazatlan for the Islas Marias on Jan. 15 and was scheduled to return to Mazatlan on Jan. 17.

A coastal patrol boat found two unidentified bodies early Tuesday near the islands, but it is not known if they are those of crewmen from the San Andres, the secretariat added.

Both maritime and air units are now searching for the San Andres.
