Telemundo to coproduce telenovela with Brazil's Globo

The series will be shot in South Florida with original screenplays by well-known Brazilian writer Aguinaldo Silva

MIAMI.- Telemundo Studios will coproduce with Brazil's Globo the telenovela "Marido en Alquiler" (Husband for Hire), starring Juan Soler, Sonya Smith and Maritza Rodriguez, the U.S. Spanish-language network said Friday.

The production that brings these two major television companies together tells the life story of a strong, determined woman who works as a "handyman" to support her family. It also helps her find love.

The series will be shot in South Florida with original screenplays by well-known Brazilian writer Aguinaldo Silva.

Globo, Brazil's top television drama network, is the world's leading producer of telenovelas.

The company previously coproduced with Telemundo the telenovela "El Clon" (The Clone) for the U.S. Hispanic market, and for Mexico "Entre el Amor y el Deseo" (Between Love and Desire) and more recently "Lazos de Sangre" (Blood Ties) and "Dancing Days."
