Six people are arrested for rape

Violence in the state of Guerrero has increased in recent months

In Acapulco, Mexico, six people have now been taking into custody after confessing to raping six Spanish tourists who vacationed in this port. This crime also impacted the locals and has received a lot of international coverage.

The district attorney in Acapulco, Jesus Murillo, announced in a press conference: "We have six detainees who have confessed to the crime." One suspect was arrested Tuesday and the other 5 were arrested throughout the course of that same day.

Luis Walton, mayor of Acapulco unleashed a fury in the media and declared that this attack could have happened anywhere in the world, and that incident now has damaged the image of the port of Acapulco, one of the most famous tourist spots in the world.

This unfortunate event happened on February 4, when seven masked men entered the beach house where the Spanish tourist were staying at and raped them.

The violence in the state of Guerrero has increased in recent months that now in several villages, there are groups of citizens who have taken up arms to defend themselves in a "lawless town".

Acapulco is the largest city in this state of Guerrero where the violence has now increased uncontrollably. An estimated 800,000 murders have taken place in the last few years which have been related to organized crime.
