Tijuana basketball team picks star in draft

Adrian Zamora, Mexican National Team player, has been selected by Zonkeys for the 2013 season

TIJUANA, BC.- Tijuana Zonkeys has selected Mexico’s National Team player, Adrian Rodrigo Zamora, as their pick from the 2013 Draft of the Basketball Circuit of the Pacific Coast (Cibacopa in Spanish).

The ex Culiacán Caballeros player plays as center and went to Montana State University; born in 1986 he also has participated with teams from the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP in Spanish) like Mexicali Soles, Xalapa Halcones and Tampico Huracanes.

The basketball team is unique in its league, since it's the only one that sends information in both English and Spanish, plus at least one third of its roster is American, getting some fans from the United States to cheer for the border squad.

Zonkey’s roster is taking form with the proximity of the start of the league, and in the next days the fans will be informed of who will defend the black and white colors of Tijuana, since the team is looking once again for the championship.

The 2013 Cibacopa season will define in the following days its start day, and on it 9 teams will be looking for the crown: Tijuana Zonkeys, Cananea Mineros, Guasave Frayles, Los Mochis Pioneros, Navolato Garra Cañera, Nogales Fuerza Guinda, Ciudad Obregón Trigueros, Guaymas Ostioneros and current champs Hermosillo Rayos.
