Tequila Jose Cuervo teams up with Proximo Spirits

"We are very excited to begin a new chapter"

Proximo Spirits will now begin distributing products of the Mexican tequila brand Jose Cuervo in the U.S., instead of the English Company Diageo, said the Mexican tequila maker today in a statement.

"Jose Cuervo, producer and marketer of the number one tequila in the world, confirmed that the company Proximo Spirits will be responsible for the distribution of its products in the United States as of July 1 of this year," said Jose Cuervo.

The Executive Director of Jose Cuervo, Juan Domingo Beckmann, said that the British Company Diageo has been a strategic partner in recent years, but a new chapter will begin with this expansion with the new agreement with this U.S Company.

"After 10 generations as leading producers of tequila, we are very excited to begin a new chapter with the expansion of our brands in the world," said Beckman.

Mark Teasdale, the director of Proximo Spirits said that "Jose Cuervo is the largest tequila company in the world; we are very excited to take care of their sales, marketing and distribution in the United States," and added that they will move forward with "investments for the construction and innovation of the brand to accelerate the growth of its portfolio of products."

The statement said that after five years of activity in the U.S., Proximo Spirits, whom are based in New Jersey, has doubled the sales of "Tequila 1800" and of the vodka "Three Olives," and also at the same time created a brand of rum called "Kraken ."

Founded in 1795 Jose Cuervo is the largest producer of tequila which has grown to other brands like Jose Cuervo Especial, the best-selling tequila in the world, Jose Cuervo Tradicional, Jose Cuervo Platino, Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia, among others.

Proximo Spirits was founded in 2007 and has its headquarters in New Jersey, and are a company that mostly imports wines, spirits and various brands.
