Xolos and Millonarios to finish out group stage

Tijuana aims to be the best second place overall

SAN DIEGO, CA.- Club Tijuana is set to take on the final group game of the Copa Libertadores. They will play host to the Colombian reigning champions Millonarios. The Xoloitzcuitles have already secured their place into the knock-out phase of the tournament, but will be looking for a win in order to be placed in a highest seed possible.

This match is scheduled for Wednesday night at the Estadio Caliente at 6:00 PM local time. It will be the final game for both teams within group five of the Copa Libertadores.,

Xolos manger Antonio Mohamed will send out an alternative squad for this game giving some of the regular guys a much needed rest. Mohamed has said that now that the qualification in the final 16 of the Copa Libertadores is secured that it is time to focus on the domestic Liga MX tournament.

The reigning Mexican league champions are winless in their last seven matches. They still have a hold on a playoff spot but by very little. It is the great start to the season that the Xolos had that has them still in the fight for the playoffs. Mohamed will be looking to save his best players for league games so that the team can qualify into the Mexican league playoffs.

The Colombian side Millonarios have absolutely no chance of advancing to the next round of the Copa Libertadores. This is why they too have sent an alternative squad to the border. Leaving some of their key players in Colombia.

The expected Xolos line for Wednesday night against Millonarios will be: Adrian Zermeño in goal. Noe Maya in the right-back position. Alfredo Gonzalez-Tahuilan and Joshua Abrego the central defenders, and US international Greg Garza as the left-back.

In the defensive midfield positions Leandro Agusto will partner up with Jorge Hernandez. Then a line of three creative midfielders; Jose Madueña on the right and Fidel Martinez on the left will be in the wide positions. And Bruno Piceno will play right behind the lone striker which will be Raul Nava.
