SAN DIEGO, CA.- With each passing game in the Liga MX and Copa Libertadores, the Xoloitzcuitles of Tijuana keep on breaking through borders. Last Saturday nights game against Cruz Azul was shown on ESPN 2 in the United States, broadcasted completely in English.
This marks the second time in which a Club Tijuana game is broadcasted in English; the first one being last seasons second leg final in the Apertura 2012 season of the Liga MX. The game that saw the Xolos crowned champions for the very first time when they defeated Toluca.
The Xoloitxcuitles have a unique reality by living on the border. They live in two countries and two different cultures; something no other Liga MX can claim.
The Xolos already have plenty of English language coverage, starting with this very section Xolo Pass from SanDiegoRed.com. As well as various other blogs, Facebook pages, and Twitter accounts that inform on the happenings of the club in English.
The need of multiple language coverage for the Club Tijuana team comes from the fact that some of their fans in southern California and other places in the U.S. dont all speak Spanish. And they too require knowing what goes on with their favorite team in their own language.
Only the future will tell if there will be more Xolo games on TV in English. Mean while stay tune to SanDiegoRed who will continue to have the most complete coverage of the Aztec Dogs in English.
