Woman used to transport 30 pounds of Drugs

She called the police herself

A woman who lives in Tijuana, but due to her job has to cross the border into the U.S. on a daily basis, unknowingly transported 30 pounds of marijuana from Tijuana to San Diego.

The woman, 33, who was still sitting in her vehicle when two men got close to her and started to look for the packages, called the police immediately. After noticing that she was still in the vehicle the two men got into their car and drove away.

According to the police report, this incident happened around 4a.m., which to the woman’s surprise, officers found 6 packages under her vehicle with a total weight of 30 pounds of marijuana.

This is not the first time that this type of incident happens to someone who crosses the border daily. Last year CNN reported the case of a man who was sentenced to 6 months in prison, for unknowingly transported illegal substances through the border in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and the U.S.

In this woman’s case, there were no arrests made.

U.S. Customs Officers recommend for people who cross the border regularly, to inspect their vehicles and report this type of activity to agents before being found guilty of smuggling illegal substances into the U.S., and paying for a crime that they had no intention of committing.
