The path of Xolos in Copa Libertadores

From Tijuana to Brazil

Club Tijuana will have eight days to prepare one of the biggest games in the short club history. The return leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores against Palmeiras; which is currently 0-0 after he first 90 minutes of play in Tijuana.

All first leg games are now complete in the round of 16. The visiting teams that took wins home were Atletico Mineiro and Velez Sarsfield. They pulled off wins while visiting São Paulo and Newlls Oldboys respectfully.

Boca Jrs and Gremio both got 1-0 wins over Corinthians and Santa Fe respectfully. And Real Garcilaso, Tigre, and Emelec all got wins by one goal difference as well. The only draw this round came in the Xolos - Palmeiras match.

The second leg match ups will commence this week where Atletico Mineiro will look to seal their place in the quarterfinals when they play São Paulo. And also on that day Fluminense will look to over come a one goal deficit against Emelec. One day later Nacional will do the same; try and over come a one goal deficit when the face Real Garcilaso.

If Xolos are able to get through Palmeiras, the quarterfinals would be a difficult task; they would face the winners of the Atletico Mineiro - São Paulo matchup. If somehow the Xoloitzcuitles pulls out the upset in quarterfinals, the semifinals round would be a bit easier; they would either face Real Gacilazo, Nacional, Gremio, or Santa Fe.

Xolos will play their second leg against Palmeiras on May 14 in search of the pass to quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.

Can you imagine Ronaldinho and Atletico Mineiro here in Tijuana?
