Mexican National team compete in homemade Wal-Mart jerseys

Their jerseys did not arrive on time

On the first day of competition in the World Cup of Archery held in Shanghai, China, the Mexican National Archery team wore homemade Wal-Mart jerseys, due to the fact that their jerseys did not arrive on time.

"At the end of the National Olympics in Tijuana last weekend, the Mexican Olympic Committee said that the uniforms had not arrived, and from there we had to come to Shanghai. So we then went to a Wal-Mart to buy some shirts that were all the same, got tape and with these uniforms is what we are competing in," said team member, Linda Ochoa.

Some competitors have opted to use old uniforms. But for now, it is unknown whether the new uniforms will arrive at all as the competition ends on Sunday.

The Mexican National Archery team is made up of 16 members, which include Mariana Avitia and Aida Roman, both whom won Olympic medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
