7 year old from San Diego makes it to "La Voz... Kids"

Christopher Vega wins his ticket to the next phase

At only 7 years of age, Christopher Vega from San Diego, California, won his ticket into the "La Voz Kids" (Latin version of The Voice for kids) singing competition and will be joining Team Tapia.

This singing reality show, which is being broadcasted through the Telemundo television network, is only in its first phase of the competition where the judges are only hearing the contestants sing without seeing them.

With the song "Me Ecantas" (I love you), Christopher won over Roberto Tapia, who was the only coach that pressed the red button and ensured his pass to the next phase of the competition.

"I started singing since I was five, because I use to see the movies of Pedrito Fernandez and I liked the way he sang," said Christopher before stepping on stage.

Accompanied by his brother Alan to the blind auditions, Christopher wore a golden colored mexican charro outfit.

"My brother has not yet recorded me, because he thinks I'm still very little and I need to practice more," he said in his sweet voice.

Among his main objectives, he noted that while he is just a little guy, he can be a great singer.

""La Voz Kids" airs every Sunday through the Telemundo television network at 7p.m. PST. The coaches in the show are Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia.
