USMNT invites San Diego to celebrate Independence Day with them

The U.S. national team will hold open practice in Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday.

SAN DIEGO - The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) is preparing itself for their participation in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. As part of the preparation Jurgan Klinsmann’s side will play one friendly match against fellow CONCACAF team Guatemala. This game will take place in the home of the San Diego Chargers Qualcomm Stadium.

The match is scheduled for Friday July 5 at 8:00PM local time. But fans of the USA will have a chance to see their favorite players in action the day before when the team holds an open practice session at Qualcomm Stadium.

U.S. Soccer Federation sent out a press release saying that the USMNT will have a practice session at Qualcomm Stadium at 5:00PM on Thursday July 4 and that it would be open for all fans to come and enjoy.

Fans will be able to celebrate the USA’s independence by watching the USMNT prepare for their friendly match against Guatemala and the 2013 Gold Cup.

Local fans will be able to see the three Tijuana Xolos players Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo, and Herculez Gomez in this practices session as all three were included in the USMNT Gold Cup roster.
