Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo get called up by USMNT

Herculez Gomez is still injured and will miss this international match.

TIJUANA – After winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup with the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) and having proofed that their game is strong; Xolos midfielder Joe Corona and left back Edgar Castillo once again get the call from the USMNT this time for the international friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The USMNT manager Jurgan Klinsmann has called up the two Tijuana Xolos players to defend the ‘Stars & Stripes’ in an international friendly game which is scheduled for Wednesday August 14 in Sarajevo at 11:30AM pacific time. The game will be shown live on ESPN2, Watch ESPN, and Unimas in Spanish.

This game will serve as a preparation match before the World Cup Qualifying action of CONCACAF gets back under way next month with the USMNT visiting San Jose on September 6 followed by their home game in Columbus, Ohio four days later against Mexico.

Corona had more participation than Castillo during this past Gold Cup, scoring his first two goals for the senior squad. Herculez Gomez was not called up for this match since he is still recovering from a knee surgery, it is expected for him to still be out for another two weeks.
