Jorge Almiron believes it is time to win on the road

He says Arce is fine and that Corona and Castillo are happy.

TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles manager Jorge Almiron held today a press conference prior to traveling with the team to Guadalajara to face the 1oth week of the Liga Bancomer MX against Chivas. Some interesting topics were discussed like the appointment of Victor Manuel Vucetich as the new Mexican National Team manager and the contrast of having Mexican and American National Team players in the squad.

To start off with the Tijuana manager talked about how the team is doing, all season long for one reason or another he has not had a complete roster at his disposable. But his last missing piece is almost ready to fully integrate back with the team; U.S. international Herculez Gomez will rejoin full practice session next week.

"The squad is coming together, Herculez (Gomez) will fully join the squad next week. The game on Sunday will be a tough one because Chivas are getting better and better. They lost focus a little last week and they ended up with a draw (against Tigres), but they played well" commented the Argentine manager.

Far from complaining about his player's participation with their National Teams, Almiron is proud of his players and says this is a just reward for their excellent form. He added that it will come as no surprise if Ecuador call up Fidel Martinez on the next FIFA date. They have been following the youngsters play.

"For us it is an honor to have players represent their National Teams. For the institution it is important because they leave the club's name really high. Hopefully they continue to get called up. In Ecuador they are already asking about Fidel (Martinez)" said Almiron.

"El Negro" Almiron was brief on the subject of Victor Manuel Vucetich being named the new Mexican National Team manager. He recognized that he is a great manager and in contrast with some, Almiron believes Vicetich is in the best managerial form.

"Vucetich has accomplished so much already, he knows the football and is the correct person to take over. He is living his best moments as a manger" expressed Almiron.

Fernando Arce lived one of the darkest times in Mexican Soccer being on the field when Mexico lost 2-0 to the United States Men's National Team (USMNT); contrast to his club teammates Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo who celebrated the USMNT's World Cup ticket that night.

"I haven't talked too much with him (Fernando Arce) he has alot of experience, without a doubt it has a strong blow to all of Mexican soccer the loss to the USMNT, it complicates the World Cup ticket. We'll talk with his and surely Sunday will be a big test for all of us. He is a professional and he'll do fine. He got here fine and will help out a lot. It will be a good game."

"They (Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo) are happy, the support of the local USMNT fans was incredible. They got here eager to play, we'll see the long travels can be a bit difficult but I see them very excited. We still have plenty of time to work which leaves me relaxed" concluded Almiron.
