USMNT closes out WCQ at home

USA already has their ticket to the World Cup.

KANSAS CITY - The United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) will close out their World Cup Qualifiers (WCQ) with their final home game against Jamaica and with a visit to Panama. The boys in red, white, and blue will be able to play this last two games without the pressure of having to secure a ticket to the World Cup. This has already been secured with their 2-0 win over Mexico about a month ago.

The USA vs Jamaica is scheduled for Friday October 11 at 7:30PM local time (5:30PM pacific time) from the Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City.

The match at Kansas City will have more of a celebration feel to it as the team has already wrapped up their ticket to the World Cup. The federation held a Pep Rally for where the fans could attend the event for free to cheer on the team before the match against the already eliminated Jamaica.

Players for the USMNT will take the next two games as opportunities to solidify their place on the team before heading into the crucial World Cup year. It is every player’s dream to play a World Cup and now with the ticket in hand the players will want to make sure they are part of the team going to Brazil. Players like Xolos’ Edgar Castillo who has been a regular call up but not seen that many minutes will need to take advantage of these next two games and impress the manager Jürgan Klinsmann.

The game in Panama City will be more of test of the team as Panama is still fighting out a grueling race with Mexico for that fourth place finish that awards a playoff series with New Zealand to see who goes to the World Cup.
