TIJUANA - The Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles U-20 squad completed a great season under Diego Torres and have qualified to the playoffs. These kids have been working together for some time now coming up through the ranks in the U-17, and third division teams. Since reaching promotion into the first division and participating in the U-17 and U-20 tournaments two years ago; this is the first time that Xolos advance into the playoffs.

The Xoloitzcuintles defeated Leon 1-2 in the Nou Camp in Leon Guanajuato. Esteban Rodriguez gave the Xolos the lead in the 34th minute. Juan Manuel Flores tied the game with a spectacular bicycle kick. But six minutes from the end Luis Eduardo Garcia put in the winning goal for Xolos.

With this result Club Tijuana already know who they will face in the quarterfinal round since most U-20 matches have already been played. Xolos will finish in 6th place and face Chiapas FC who finished in 3rd. Only the 8th and final spot is up for grabs which right now belongs to Toluca, but if tomorrow Pumas wins they steal that playoff spot from the Red Devils.

The playoffs for the U-2o division will kickoff this coming week, and Xolos will host Chiapas at the Estadio Caliente this coming Wednesday night. The return leg will be in the Victor Manuel Reyna in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.
