TIJUANA - Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles have a new boss who was presented to members of the media on Saturday afternoon it the Estadio Caliente. César Alejandro Farías former Venezuelan National Team manager takes over the club as it heads into 2014.

"They believe in the long term project, the believe in continuity, and it was not too difficult to convince us to come" stated Farías who had other offers from other Liga MX clubs in Mexico.

César Farías is another young manager who brings fresh ideas to the table which is exactly the type of manager the Xolos love to have. But the biggest worry is that he knows little of the Mexican league, to which he assured everyone he is knowledgeable on Liga MX and is prepared for a lot of hard work.

"As Venezuelan National Team manager I had to follow the paths of some of my players that have come through the Mexican league. But now I'm prepared to fully study each of the 17 other teams."

The young manager expects to reach big things with the club and is prepared to do so with the squad he has. He admits that the directors are looking to bring in one or two players though.

"I'm very content with the quality of the squad as it is. I believe that with this squad we can get in the playoffs and make a run in the CONCACAF Champions League. I know the directors are looking to fortify the squad, this nothing new, but it is not because I'm demanding it. I can give my opinion if it is asked for, but I'm not looking to bring in players."

Farías will now have a chance to work with his new squad and will be able to see the in action come December 28 in Los Angeles against Club América in a preseason friendly. The club will be looking to schedule one or two other friendlies before the start of the season.
